Aston-Mansfield and One Newham continue support of the Voluntary, Community, and Faith Sector (VCF Infrastructure Support Programme).

Back in January we announced that we were partnering with One Newham on a new Voluntary, Community, and Faith Sector (VCF) Infrastructure Support Programme.

We’ve been busy working on this programme and are excited to show you what we’ve been up to.

Some of our highlights include:

  • 1500 organisations mapped
  • 9 workshops
  • 4 panel discussions
  • 3 networking events
  • 1750 contacts received the NEL Survey
  • 200 participants at the One Newham Conference

Aston-Mansfield at the One Newham Conference 2025

On the 6th March, we attended the One Newham conference. Held at the Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability (RDCS) the conference saw charities, organisations and community groups from across Newham and East London come together for a day of inspiration, collaboration, and action.

Our youth team led an engaging session exploring the results of our youth survey and sat on a panel discussing the benefits of inter-generational projects.

Plus, our Investing In Health team worked with ELBA on a session looking at Connecting Communities and Breaking Down Barriers.

Key insights and takeaway actions from the conference include:

  • The importance of being delivery-focused
  • Connections made or deepened
  • How can we work as an ecosystem
  • To engage with different organisations
  • How to implement intergenerational work

Each session also gave us lots of specific insights, which will shape the project and support that is delivered.

We’ve also been doing lots of behind the scenes work including building a website and looking at the digital hub essentials.
