Aston-Mansfield has been working with the Prince’s Trust to help spruce up Durning Hall. We are really grateful to the Prince’s Trust from Newham College for the amazing job they did painting around Durning Hall.

We had the privilege of hosting the team for two weeks, during which they painted the Small and Large Hostel Lounge as well as the stairs in Durning Hall. Previous, to this the 7 team members from the Prince’s Trust fundraised to buy the paint and materials needed to give some of Durning Hall’s rooms a much needed pick-me-up

The team was with us as part of a 12 week personal development programme called ‘Team’ during which they gain new skills, undertake a qualification and meet new people.

We were delighted that they chose to work with us for the community project element of their programme. They did an excellent job fundraising and sourcing all the materials for the project and have made a positive difference to the facilities at Durning Hall. The newly decorated space will be a huge benefit to the many different community groups that rent our space.

Our Newly refurbished Hostel Lounge:

Do make sure you pop into Durning Hall in the next few weeks to see some of the freshly painted areas. Without the support of valuable volunteer teams we would not have the capacity to make these updates so from all of us here at Aston-Mansfield: We are thrilled with the work they did for us – thank-you Prince’s Trust!  We look forward to working with you again in the future.
